IPL TREATMENT

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy using the Lumecca device delivers controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light to the skin. The light energy is absorbed by chromophores within the skin, such as pigment and haemoglobin, which convert the light into heat. This process may assist in improving the appearance of certain skin concerns.

IPL may be considered in selected patients for conditions such as pigmentation irregularities, sun damage, redness and some vascular lesions. Treatment suitability is determined during consultation following assessment of skin type, medical history and the area being treated.

Treatment sessions typically take up to 30 minutes depending on the size and location of the treatment area. Some patients may require more than one treatment session depending on the condition being treated and individual skin response. Treatment plans are individualised and discussed during consultation.

Risks and recovery

As with any medical procedure, IPL treatment carries potential risks. These may include temporary redness, swelling, blistering, pigment changes, infection and, in rare cases, scarring. Some patients may experience a flushed appearance for several hours following treatment. Recovery experiences vary depending on the treatment area and individual skin response.

All potential risks, expected recovery and aftercare instructions are discussed during consultation prior to treatment.
All cosmetic procedures are medical treatments and require consultation with Dr Fox to determine suitability. Information on this website is provided for general educational purposes only. Suitability and consultation

All cosmetic procedures offered at Wylah Medical & Aesthetics require a consultation with Dr Fox to determine whether treatment is appropriate. During consultation, medical history, medications, skin type and treatment goals are reviewed before any procedure is recommended.

Not all patients will be suitable for every treatment. Alternative options, potential risks and expected recovery will be discussed prior to proceeding. Information provided on this website is general in nature and is intended for educational purposes only. Individual responses and outcomes vary between patients.

Wylah Medical & Aesthetics takes an individualised approach to patient care, with a focus on understanding skin health and the factors that may influence it. Treatment plans consider both medical and procedural options where appropriate. Wylah is a doctor-led clinic. All treatments are guided by clinical assessment, with consideration given to underlying factors as well as the visible features of the skin.

A range of non-surgical procedures and medical skin treatments are offered, with treatment plans tailored to the individual. The aim is to support skin health and address patient concerns in a measured and considered way. No two patients are the same, and all treatments require consultation to determine suitability.

Wy-lah is an aboriginal name for Yellow-tailed black cockatoo. For Dr Fox, this animal represents new beginnings, a good omen and a connection to her ancestors.
